Getting started

Live before
your coffee goes cold.

No project. No developer sprint. No plugin to install and keep updated. If you can paste a tracking code into your website, you can do this — and if you’d rather not, send us the login and we’ll do it.

01Four minutes

Four minutes, start to finish.

01

Tell us your website

You add the address of the site you sell from. That’s the whole of the security setup — the chat only ever runs on the sites you named, so nobody can lift it and put it on theirs.

02

Paste one line in

We give you a single line to drop into your site, the same way you’d add Google Analytics. Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Shopify, a developer’s build — same line, same place.

03

Put your people in it

Names, photos, who covers which page. Turn someone off when they’re on holiday. Out on a viewing? Link your phone and answer from WhatsApp.

04

Watch someone arrive

The next person on your pricing page shows up in your inbox with the page they’re reading and what they asked. You’ll know within an hour whether it’s worth keeping.

02The line

What you actually paste.

One line. Your dashboard shows it with your own details already filled in, and a button to copy it, so there’s nothing to type and nothing to get wrong.

It won’t slow your site down. It loads after your page has finished, so your visitors never wait for it. And it keeps itself completely separate from your own design — it can’t change how your site looks, and your site can’t change how it looks.

Nobody can steal it. The line is tied to the website addresses you gave us. Paste it on any other site and the chat simply refuses to start, which is why telling us your address is the whole of the security setup.

If you’d rather not

Send us the login to your site and we’ll put it in for you, usually the same day. If you have a developer, the line is waiting in your dashboard under Install and they’ll know exactly what to do with it.

03By platform

Where it goes, on your platform.

Same line every time. Only the box you paste it into changes.

SquarespaceCode Injection

Settings → Advanced → Code Injection. Paste into the Header box and save. It applies to every page on the site. Business plan and above.

WordPressHeader, or a plugin

Most themes have a custom code box for exactly this. If yours doesn’t, any “insert headers and scripts” plugin does the job, and so does your theme’s header file if you’re comfortable in there.

WixCustom Code

Settings → Custom Code → Add Custom Code. Paste it, set it to load on all pages, place it in the Head, and name it Dashe so you can find it again.

ShopifyTheme code

Online Store → Themes → Edit code, then the main theme file. Duplicate the theme first if you want somewhere to fall back to.

WebflowCustom Code

Project Settings → Custom Code → Head Code, then publish. Custom code only runs on the published site, not in the designer, so check it on your live address.

Framer, Ghost, HubSpotThe site-wide head

Every one of these has a box for exactly this. If your platform can take a Google Analytics tag, it can take this line.

A developer’s buildWherever your tags live

Nothing to install and no library to keep in step with. Hand them the line from your dashboard and they’ll put it where the rest of your tags go.

Google Tag ManagerA custom HTML tag

Works, and it’s often the easiest route if you already have it. Fire it on all pages.

04If it doesn’t appear

What to do if nothing shows up.

In practice it’s nearly always one of these four.

05Questions

The things people actually ask.

Do I need a developer to install Dashe?

No. If you can paste a tracking code into your website you can install Dashe. It’s one line, in the same place you’d put Google Analytics. And if you’d rather not, send us the login and we’ll do it for you.

Which website platforms does Dashe work with?

Any platform that lets you add a bit of custom code, which is nearly all of them: Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Webflow, Framer, HubSpot, Ghost and hand-built sites. It’s the same single line everywhere, and there’s no plugin to install or keep updated.

Will the chat slow my site down?

No. It loads after your page has finished, so your visitors never wait for it. It also keeps itself entirely separate from your own design — it can’t change how your site looks, and your site can’t change how it looks.

Can someone copy my snippet and use it on their site?

No. The line is tied to the website addresses you gave us. On any address you haven’t named, the chat refuses to start. That’s why telling us your address is the whole of the security setup.

Can I run Dashe on more than one website?

Yes, up to the number your plan allows — one on Front Desk, three on Floor, as many as you like on Enterprise. The same line works on each address you’ve added.

How do I check the install worked?

Open your site in a normal browser tab and look for the chat bubble in the bottom right. Then open your Dashe inbox: it shows people who are on the site right now, so you should see yourself, along with the page you’re on.

Can I control when the chat opens itself?

Yes. It can stay closed until someone clicks it, or open itself after a delay, or once a visitor has scrolled far enough down a page that matters. You write the opening line, and each of your people can have one of their own.
